    My great uncle once raced a greyhound and he didn’t bother getting rid of him when he retired, instead he took him home and kept him as a pet.

    That’s what Adoption is for. A Good kennel will adopt their animals out while the animals are still racing so they have a place to go when they retire.

    The other option is killing them if they can”t race. Would you prefer they die?
