Greyhound racing is arguably one of the most exploiting forms of entertainment that we have today. Yet people who go to these tracks oftentimes don´t even realize what they are truly supporting. Yes, it is certainly no lie that greyhounds love to run. But no animal should have to run for the sole reason that people want to earn money. These dogs live for our entertainment. They are not well socialized and miss out on so many things that make a dog a dog things like getting to romp and play …

It is very sad that people can be so entertained by an animals misfortune, similarly to circuses. Thanks for your comment!

Most people call this entertainment but it’s horrible, it’s cruelty!!! And most people don’t know what happens to dogs who lose after the race.
I never support animal entertainment!!

Yes, as usual, cruelty always comes after greed. It’s sad how much misery has been caused in the world because of greed. But hopefully we can win this battle, (with many more to come). When enough people know the truth about the cruelty, laws will change. Spread the word!

Oh my friend! I could not agree with you more! These 2 dedicated persons behind AnimalMedia give me hope for the world… They deserve our heartfelt thanks and all our support! Especially now that we have a chance to stop this nightmare for the Rhode Island greyhounds! Of course the breeders are fighting to have the closing of that track vetoed! They sell EACH dog for up to $20,000. What a comfortable way to make a living by selling dogs who will have a short, replaceable life!…

You’re really the ones who deserve the most thanks for making these great vids. Keep spreading the word!

Good for you. Palm oil production is a tragic problem in southeast Asia that I never knew about until I visited Malaysia and drove past endless miles of palm tree plantations that had displaced forests once teeming with no doubt a wide variety of life. I’m glad you’re doing a video on that.

That is true, it definitely should have been worded differently, the dogs certainly are the ones earning the money, not the people!
And agreed, horse racing is something I could never support. We´d love to make a video at some point too,
Thanks for commenting!

Great video. One correction: I would not use the word “earn” when describing how dog racers make their money. They do not earn it; the dogs do. The people get money from these wonderful dogs are also responsible for their welfare and care, but do little or nothing for them but house them in barren, lonely concrete kennels.
Thanks for sharing this great vid. I hope everyone who sees it tells everyone they know about this terrible problem.
PS Horse racing is not much better either.

Thank you for uploading this video. Awesome message! We must all be a voice for the voiceless. It is awful that these beautiful and graceful greyhounds suffer and die to satisy greedy humans. Keep up the great work. The info you put in the video description is really useful. It’s always good to know exactly what we can do to help.
peace and earth muffin hugs,
vicki

Great posts! Many other states have made great strides against greyhound racing (like Massachusetts, where people voted yes on Question 3). Hopefully all states will become cruelty free (as far as greyhound racing goes) before we know it.

Nonresidents of Rhode Island be sure to ask both Rep. Murphy & Sen. Paiva Weed to support Governor Carcieri in his veto of S 286, Substitute B, and to do all they can to stop any override of his veto. These are the decisionmakers!
Remember to say that the despicable industry is why you choose to spend your tourist dollars in Massachusetts, where greyhound racing was recently banned, rather than in their state of Rhode Island.
If you need their e-mail address, let me know.

Part 1
If you are not a Rhode Island resident, YOU can still speak up for the greyhound dog! Write, call or e-mail both Rhode Island State Senator Paiva Weed and Rhode Island Representative Murphy!
Senator M. Teresa Paiva Weed
President of the Senate 318 State House
Providence, Rhode Island 02903
(401)222-6655
Representative William Murphy,
Speaker Of The House 323 State House
