This has broken my heart. When I have the funds, I will absolutely get a greyhound and perhaps another dog that needs to be rescued. I had a rescued German Shepherd for 15 years and had to put him down in May. I can’t understand the cruelty to any of Creator’s creatures. I hope all those involved of killing and hurting these helpless souls get a huge karmic payback big time. Bless all of you who have helped the greyhounds (and any other living thing).

We adopted Isis from the Seabrook Race track last February 2009. In October 2008 she fractured 4 bones in her left hind foot coming around the second turn in a race. When we adopted her she was in a tiny cage with only shredded paper for bedding. She had never seen a bicycle, a jogger, a house or even another breed of dog. These dogs are so sweet and gentle. It is time to end this cruel “sport”. Please adopt today. You will be happy you did.

I have two Greyhounds one aged eight who raced until he was nearly five ( a long time in racing ) and the other is only twenty two months old who didn`t make the grade . They are truly amazing dogs . I would reccomend Greyhounds to anyone they make loving , loyal and funny pets . I read somewhere ” saving one Greyhound may not change the world , but it will certainly change the world for that one Greyhound “.

  7. UncleTurdMuffin Says:

I know that some greyhounds LOVE and enjoy their racing career. But 30 000 greyhounds ar killed every year because they no longer race. They are mistreated, starved and abused.

  8. passportpapa Says:

Please dont stereotype all greyhound owners! I have had racing greyhounds since i was 15 years old and i have always made sure they have a great home to go after racing! Sadly a few and it is a few have given the sport a bad name! They are wonderful dogs and deserve the best!

Apparently, you’ve never taken your dog to any kind of “fun run”… once they hear the lure working, they’re tuned in and ready to roll.

A shame you’ve taken that spirit out of your retired racer.

Me and my fiance have 2 of these wonderful dongs. Ive had one for 6 years and the other just around a month now. They make amazing pets. Anyone thinking about geting a dog should chose greyhounds, they are so loving, lazy and are just so funny. It is so cruel the way they are treated, no animal deserves it

Adopting a greyhound was THE best thing I could have ever done. He’s so gentle and loving. He’s amazing with my son and has such an enjoyable temperment. He’s brought such joy to our lives. Adopt a greyhound…you won’t be sorry.

  13. androclestipster Says:

Awesome video and message my friend. Your dogs are absolutely beautiful. So sorry for the loss of your beautiful boy. You have done an awesome job and I would stand with you on this anyday.

  14. TearsOfCanines Says:

Brilliant video showing the cruelty behind Greyhound racing, people say its in their blood to race but those that say that are ignorant and probably those that race their dogs, those that own a greyhound know the truth these dogs are lazy and would rather lie down on a nice couch. 55555s faves brilliant. Thank You

  15. jc2140 Says:

If you’re moved by this, don’t let an opportunity to adopt a retired racer pass you by. You won’t be disappointed. They are great dogs, and seem instinctively grateful for a chance at a new life. There’s probably a greyhound relocation agency near you.

  16. CaitiePotatie1995 Says:

greyhounds are the most beautiful natured dog, its so sad they’re forced into racing and know no other life. I wish they were given a chance as a pet from a puppy instead of being shoved into racing. We have 3 adopted greyhounds.. I wish we could have them all, i hate to think of what happens to them everyday, just because they’re ‘not fast enough’. bullshit. they fly like the wind, no matter what.

  18. Death0Rangex Says:

I adopted a white/black female from Retired Greyhound Trust in Sheffield.
She is a brilliant pet, gets on well with our two cats, and loves my twin boys(2 weeks old) and i cant imagine my life without the dog.
She is so loyal and loving, and all she needs is food and shelter, and 20 minutes of exercise, its so easy and rewarding to do.

  20. Edaholt Says:

Beautifully done video. humans make me sick! I own 4 greys right now and volunteer for an adoption group. They are the BEST pets in the world!

  21. djminfll Says:

I had two of these wonderful dogs for almost 10 years. The least demanding, trouble-free, loving pets I have ever had. All they want is love and to please. When my male died at age 14, my female (age 10) died within 3 months, I think of a broken heart. Anyone would be smart to adopt one of these fantastic animals!

  22. rusticways Says:

Thank you for putting this out there. I have a greyhound, he is a joy! He was not fast enough for the track, I hate to think of what his fate might have been if the adoption group didn’t take him over.

  24. JacksHounds Says:

Excellent video showing the plight of so many. Undervalued breed that deserves far more recognition – loyal, undemanding, loving and great family pets. Keep up the excellent work

  25. Hubbily Says:

What is this piece of music? It really works – sounds like sarah mclachlan
