Greyhound Racing in Modern Britain? Part one: Wall of Shame An interview with Debra Rothery of Tia Greyhound Rescue and a look at some of the dogs that have arrived at Tia’s doors. This is a short film from a series which explores the industry of dog racing in Great Britain. We travel across the country and ask whether the cruel practice of commercial greyhound racing has a place in our culture.

we have had five greys from Tia, Debs is doing a fantastic job and we help where we can, but please, please, please do anything you can to assist Tia. (we would have ten if we had room) brilliant animals and they deserve so much better from the racing “industry”

I don’t get the people in this industry. Why,why, why, do they murder innocent dogs?! There are some sick, sick, sick people I really wish would go to ****! I love my Greyhound, but I don’t like the people who go out and murder them.

Debbie from Tia Rescue is a great person. I met her years ago when I rehomed a beautiful Lurcher from her. Its sadistic what happens to Greyhounds and Lurchers. So many are killed in the most horrific ways. Why doesnt the Labour Government do anything about the evil racing industry.

I’ve only recently found out about this industry( after studying it at college) its so upsetting, how could a human to this to mans best freind, luckily with enough signatures and pretests my local track is closing down =]

Last year at college I did a 10 week project on this awful industry to let those out there who weren’t aware of the circumstances know about it. I got quite a lot of positive feedback on it and sadly found out that many people were totally unaware of the situation.
Wonderful video.

Any change in welfare law or regulation cannot impact on how greyhounds are viewed by members of the racing fraternity and there lies the problem. The greyhound is and will remain only a commodity – essentially a betting medium – to all involved in the greyhound racing industry.

Great comment, my friend! I absolutely agree with you! And I am with you in wishing that 2009 is a year where we will go many steps ahead in stopping this atrocity!

Great video, it just goes to show what a sick and vile industry greyhound racing is, and the people involved in this industy should be ashamed of themselves (SHAME ON YOU).
This should stop now.
Write to your MP and newspapers about cruelty to greyhounds.
Avoid attending Greyhound racing or betting or betting on it.
Campaign outside your local Greyhound track.

This is a worldwide problem and racing must be stopped! It is the root of all, evil against greyhounds! 5 stars!

why do we as a supposed nation of animal lovers allow this to continue good luck to tia and hwer efforts to help these greaceful animals

I wish more people would use their common sense and ask themselves what happens to all the ‘retired’ and ‘losing’ racing animals they are betting on. It is deplorable how anyone can go and bet on any type of animal racing – people need to be made aware of the suferring they support.
The only racing these dogs should be doing is with their families in their backyards and in the park.
Thanks so much for all you do, hopefully there will be more success in the coming year to end this cruelty.

It makes me ashamed. Why aren’t these cruel people jailed. When will the mistreatment stop? It must stop now. Deb is a pure angel. Thankyou for posting this to make us aware. I want to thank lovetoallanimals for sending this to me.

Great video! It is revolting to imagine that this goes on in a supposedly “civilized” country! The racing, and therefore, the abuse of those gentle, forgiving creatures HAVE TO STOP NOW!!!! NOW!!!
