He looks like a great greyhound, but it’s highly unlikely that he’s the fastest dog ever to grace the earth. If he could beat Westmead Hawk in a 2 dog race over 500 metres I would be impressed. If he could beat Ballyregan Bob in a match over 600 metres, I’d be even more impressed. But the greatest dog ever to grace the earth is called Scurlogue champ.

I think Brett Lee ( 3 Group 1′s, $403 106, 31 wins from 39) and Whisky Assassin (1 Group 1, $266 140, 27 wins from 44) were both legendary greyhounds. Whisky was a crack one bend speed tracker. I think on the evidence, Whisky would have predominantly won up to 450m-ish on these tracks. Further and on a full track I would definitely favour Brett Lee. The 28.88 in a Group 1 final is phenomenal, I don’t think any Aussie greyhound would have beaten him that night.

28.88 over 515 metres
March 30th, 2010 at 11:53 am
Brett Lee is currently the best dog of all time.He broke the angle park track record for the 515m with a time of 28.88. The best whisky assassin could do was 29.40

The best dog of all time? I’m not sure how you work that one out, but he certainly has some terrific early pace. If you like staying dogs Check out Ballyregan Bob, and of course, the unbelievable Scurlogue champ.

Whiskey Assassin is the best dog ever in Australian Gryhound History!
March 30th, 2010 at 11:53 am
Whisky Assassin had a long final campaign; he had 20 starts for I think 17 wins, including a bad injury in the Melbourne cup. He was flawless and only bad boxes beat him – drawing 8 at the Meadows put him off the track badly checked again. Basically he won every race even those where plenty thought he couldn’t

Whisky *NO E* broke many of Brett Lee’s records. He set fast records at Shepparton Ballarat Sandown
When I thought he might lose from box 1 with dogs crowded around he made himself room. He then hurdled a fallen greyhound and flew home to still win easily – this was the big race at Bulli
Ballarat was phenomenal in a CRACK field he came from behind and pushed wide to win in what looked like an impossible dive.
Horsham he was crowded for room and turned for home miles from the lead. Won easily

great dog every greyhound racer owner or who likes bettin watch out for chances assasin ok
March 30th, 2010 at 11:53 am
Well…I’m not Australian. If we can forgive me for that…I raced half/greyhound sled dogs for many years, and I’ve watched a lot of dogs gait. I have to say that Big Daddy Cool is the smoothest, fastest, quickest accellerating dog I have ever seen. All due respect to many other dogs….If I was to breed another Greyhound litter, He’d be it. The other ones seem to only run fast enough to win. BDC runs to go fast. Which he did.

not the fastest whisky assasin was heaps better
